10 Reasons To Sell During The Holidays!

by Fontaine Family

10 Reasons to List Your Home During the Holidays

1.  People who look for a home during the holidays are more serious buyers.

2.  Serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from during the holidays so you have less competition.

3.  Houses show better when decorated for the holidays.

4.  Buyers are more emotional during the holidays.

5.  Buyers have more time to look for a home during the holidays.

6.  Many people want to buy before the end of the year for tax reasons.

7.  January is traditionally the month for transfers.  Transferees can't wait until spring to buy.  You must be on the market to capture the market.

8.  You may still restrict showings during your personal family events.

9.  You can sell now, but specify a delayed closing or extended occupancy until early next year if you so desire.

10.  By selling now, you have an opportunity to buy during the spring, when many houses are on the market.

Bottom Line
By listing now, you may have fewer actual showings, but more qualified and motivated buyers.

The Reason
You have less competition, resulting in a quicker sale and better price for you.

5 Ways to Honor Memorial Day

by Fontaine Family

This Weekend is Memorial Day Weekend!

This is a day that we take time to remember and honor those who gave their lives so we can enjoy our freedom.  If you are looking for a way to honor those who have died serving our country on this Memorial Day, we have a few ideas...

  1. Place flowers on flags on gravesites at a Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
  2. Visit a Veterans Memorial.
  3. Fly the American Flag at half-staff until noon.
  4. Observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3pm on Memorial Day.
  5. Visit Veterans at a Maine Veterans Home.

How are you spending Memorial Day Weekend?

This week we had our annual pumpkin carving contest at the office!
What fun!

Check out some of the great entries we had!

Whatever you plans are for this Halloween, plan ahead to stay safe...

  • Pay attention to your surroundings
  • Make sure kids trick-or-treat with an adult
  • Use reflective tape and flashlights
  • Don't enter a strangers home
  • When driving, watch for trick-or-treaters

Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Favorite Easter Ideas

by Fontaine Family

Easter is this weekend!

We plan on enjoying some family, food and fun.
So we thought we would share our
Top 3 Easter Ideas
that you might be able to use in your Easter plans.

1.  Shaving Cream Dyed Easter Eggs
This looks like a lot of fun!  Fill a pan with shaving cream, drop in some food coloring, swirl it around, and then plop in an egg and roll it in the shaving cream.  It might be messy, but it makes some pretty Easter eggs!  Click here for full instructions.

2.  Fruit Peep Kabobs
You know there is going to be candy in those Easter baskets, so this is a great way to try to sneak some fruit in the mix.  Just cut up some fruit and slide it onto a kabob with a Peep bunny.  Cute and tasty!  Check it out here.

3.  Oreo Dirt Cake
This is just too cute to pass up.  How about a cake that looks like a field of carrots...and tastes great for Easter dessert?  You really can't go wrong if it is topped with Oreos!  See the recipe here.

on our Easter Food & Fun Pinterest board here
Enjoy your holiday weekend...
Happy Easter from the Fontaine Team to you!
